On my first day exploring Paris, I wasn’t expecting what I came across, especially the immense wave of emotion it brought with it. A fantastic Parisian festival graced the length of the Champs-Élysées, from the Arc de Triumph to the Louvre. I couldn’t believe my luck when I stumbled across it!
The thrilling street party offered 9 floats in which over 25 magnificent musical acts played to a crowd more than willing to listen, every person jumping with joy. I was especially impressed with the array of genres, including Dj Pone, Jupiter & OKWESS and LMZG. It left me thinking, could Paris be the next Glastonbury?
However this was not just a festival, Paris- no France was making a stand. Le Printemps Solidaire,”Spring Solidarity”, was an event raising awareness for the development of countries in need of help; countries suffering from malnourishment, extreme poverty and infant mortality. For over 40 years, France has been working to devote 0.7% of its wealth to international solidarity and believes 2017 is the year the target shall be met.
I don’t know about you but a spirited festival with a powerful message seems like nothing short of amazing, which is why you should definitely experience it. Fortunately, a similar event Solidays festival will take place from the 23rd to 25th of June this year. Why not check it out at http://www.solidays.org
